Learn about content reach →Airglow is analytics for the AI agents on your website. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and AI browsers like ChatGPT Atlas now research products for your buyers, and Google Analytics counts those visits as “direct” or misses them. See which agents came, what they did, and the buyers they sent you.
What “direct” traffic really is
Last 8 weeks. 61% of “direct” explained.
Recognizes the assistants, AI browsers and coding agents your buyers use
AI crawlers and assistants like GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot fetch your pages without running JavaScript, so analytics built on a tracking script never counts them.
AI browsers like ChatGPT Atlas and Perplexity Comet click through your site for someone. Analytics counts them as people, which skews every number you report.
When the agent sends a buyer your way, they type your address or paste a link. The credit goes nowhere.

Visits your analytics can't explain: links pasted into Slack, WhatsApp and direct messages, AI agents browsing on someone's behalf, and the buyers those agents send. They end up counted as “direct”, or not counted at all.
Direct traffic is the visits Google Analytics can't trace to a source: no referrer and no campaign tags. It's meant to be people typing your address, but it also collects links opened from Slack, WhatsApp and email apps, AI browsers, and buyers who found you through an AI assistant. Airglow breaks “direct” into those parts.
GA4 can show visits referred from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and similar sites if you set up a custom channel group. It can't see AI agents that don't run its tag, and it counts AI browsers as people. Airglow covers both gaps and imports your GA4 history so you can compare.
An AI browser, or agentic browser, is a web browser an AI drives for someone, like ChatGPT Atlas or Perplexity Comet. It opens pages, clicks and fills in forms like a person, so standard analytics counts it as one. Airglow detects these visits by how they behave and replays what they did.
AI visibility tools, used for generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO), track whether AI answers mention your brand. Airglow shows the other half: what AI agents do when they actually visit your website, where they get stuck, and the buyers they send you. Many teams use both.
Three ways, and every visit says which one applied. Some agents sign their requests so they can be verified. Many name themselves in the request. The rest are detected by how they behave: they type at machine speed, move the mouse in perfectly straight lines, and leave traces that browser automation tools leave behind.
Assistants that fetch pages (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and others), AI browsers that click around like a person (ChatGPT Atlas, Perplexity Comet and similar), and coding agents reading your docs. We add new ones as they appear.
No, it works alongside it. With your permission, Airglow reads your Google Analytics data and explains what it can't: what “direct” really is, and how many agent visits it counted as people.
No. The script is about 3 KB and loads after the rest of your page.
One script tag. Add your domain, prove it's yours with a DNS record or a meta tag, and paste the script into your site's head. Most site builders have a box for it.
Yes. Each client gets their own workspace with separate websites, billing and access, so nothing mixes.
Each test is priced from what the AI providers charge, plus a small margin. Free includes $2 of tests a month. Pro bills what you use, up to a monthly cap you set, and the cost is checked before a test starts.
